On Friday, Tennessee replaced AD John Currie with Hall of Fame former coach Phillip Fulmer, and now Fulmer will be in charge of hiring a new football coach.

That likely means the Vols will have someone in place sooner rather than later, but for now, the position is still vacant.

So, who will Fulmer make his top targets? According to ESPN’s Chris Low, who appeared on SportsCenter Saturday morning, he thinks a couple of former Tennessee guys — Auburn DC Kevin Steele and USC OC Tee Martin — will be getting calls in the coming days.

“I think you’re going to see them talk to Kevin Steele, Auburn’s defensive coordinator, a Tennessee guy,” he said. “Tee Martin is someone I think Fulmer is going to talk to, too.”

After the Greg Schiano debacle and then missing out on guys like Mike Gundy, Jeff Brohm, Dave Doeren and Mike Leach, fans just want someone, anyone, to be hired.

Fulmer won’t waste any time, but will he hire one of the two guys mentioned above? That remains to be seen.
