Eight SEC teams are featured in ESPN’s preseason college football power rankings including five inside the Top 15.
Preseason media favorite Auburn comes in at No. 3 and Alabama at No. 5, followed by Georgia (10), LSU (14) and Ole Miss (15). Rounding out the Top 25 power rankings from the SEC are Arkansas (22), Tennessee (24) and Texas A&M (25).
A group of 13 ESPN writers, analysts and broadcast personalities vote in the rankings. Senior writer Chris Low says he doesn’t believe any SEC team will reach the Playoff this season as a result of what he calls ‘cannibalism’ in college football’s toughest league.
