An Oregon basketball great is returning to Eugene to be the College GameDay celebrity guest picker. ESPN’s traveling pregame show will welcome former Oregon standout and WNBA champion Sabrina Ionescu to help pick the biggest college football games of Saturday’s Week 7 slate.

Ionescu is no stranger to the show, having previously visited for Oregon-UCLA in 2022. Her Ducks picked up a 45-30 win in what was a Pac-12 clash at the time.

Ionescu played at Oregon from 2016-20. She had a sensational final season in Eugene, winning numerous national Player of the Year honors, including the John Wooden Award.

During her decorated Oregon career, Ionescu became the first player in NCAA history with 2,000 career points (2,562), 1,000 career rebounds (1,040) and 1,000 career assists (1,091). She was only the second player in NCAA history to achieve 2,000 points and 1,000 assists, joining Courtney Vandersloot. With so many points, rebounds and assists to Ionescu’s name, it’s no surprise that she notched an NCAA record 26 triple-doubles.

Ionescu has played in the WNBA since 2020 with the New York Liberty, the league’s 2024 champion. She has been selected a WNBA all-star 4 times in her career.

College GameDay is in Eugene for the highly anticipated top-10 showdown between No. 3 Oregon and No. 7 Indiana.
