ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky has long been a fan of Jayden Daniels entering his rookie season in Washington. Nothing has changed in his thoughts as the Commanders moved to 4-1 and are off to an incredible start behind a historic performance by Jayden Daniels.

Through the first 5 games, Daniels has thrown for 1,135 yards and 4 touchdowns while completing 77.1% of his passes. During an episode of Get Up on Monday morning, Orlovsky said the Commanders got their version of Lamar Jackson.

“Washington has found their Lamar Jackson,” Orlovsky said. “The playmaking with his feet is spectacular. Automatically, you’re like this team is going to contend for Super Bowls because of this young player. The timing of their pass game has went up. Their zone-read offense right now you’re getting 5 yards a clip. Nothing, nothing phases this young guy.”

If there is one more test for Daniels and the Commanders to pass, it is going up against the elite teams in the NFL. They are currently 4-0 on the season against non-playoff teams from last year, with their lone game against a playoff team was a 37-20 loss in the opener to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Daniels will be going up against the quarterback that Orlovsky compared him to, as the Commanders hit the road to take on Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens.
