Georgia is 5-0 and looks intent on putting together a special season.

The Bulldogs are playing a special brand of football right now, and they have passed every early season test they have faced. Georgia went into South Bend and took out the Fighting Irish on the road. The Bulldogs have played even better to begin SEC play by knocking off Mississippi State and Tennessee by a combined score of 72-3.

Georgia is up to No. 5 in the AP Poll, but they come in at No. 9 on ESPN’s Football Power Index. The Bulldogs are the third SEC team on the FPI behind No. 1 Alabama and No. 8 Auburn. Georgia still has some work to do, but the rest of the schedule is favorable to the Bulldogs.

FPI favors Georgia by 75% or more in five of the seven remaining games this season. The toughest remaining game for the Bulldogs by far is on the road at Auburn. It is the lone game that Georgia is not favored to win the rest of the way, and FPI projects the Bulldogs with a 39.6% chance to take down the Tigers.

The second toughest remaining game for the Bulldogs will be when they travel to Atlanta for the in-state rivalry matchup with Georgia Tech. UGA is still favored at 68.8%, but the rivalry game between the two schools is usually a tight battle. Each of the last four matchups between the two schools has been decided by seven points or less.

The only other team that is expected to challenge the Bulldogs at all is Florida. Georgia is still favored in the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party, but it is another rivalry game that is usually closer than expected. The Bulldogs are favored with a 75.8% chance to to take down the Gators.

It may be tough for Georgia to finish the regular season undefeated, but the Bulldogs have a great shot to win the SEC East and head to Atlanta for the SEC Championship Game.
