The college football season is rolling along. Week 7 is a loaded slate nationally, headlined by the rivalry clash on Rocky Top.
Both ESPN’s “College GameDay” and the SEC Network’s “SEC Nation” are in Knoxville for this year’s Third Saturday in October showdown between No. 3 Alabama and No. 6 Tennessee, a 3:30 p.m. ET “SEC on CBS” showcase game.
Alabama-Tennessee is one of 3 cross-division contests. No. 16 Mississippi State and No. 22 Kentucky cap the SEC Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET in Lexington. LSU is back in The Swamp for the first time since the 2020 “Shoe Game” shocker to tangle Florida.
The Week 7 SEC slate is a bit different from Week 6, which had all 14 teams in conference clashes. This Saturday, 3 teams are off (Missouri, South Carolina and Texas A&M) and Arkansas is on the road to face an out-of-conference opponent. It all gets started with No. 9 Ole Miss hosting Auburn.
ESPN’s Football Power Index (FPI) is a simulation-based metric that projects the outcome of every game. Here are the FPI’s picks to win Saturday’s 6 SEC games:
- Ole Miss (85.1% chance to win) vs. Auburn
- Georgia (98.6% chance to win) vs. Vanderbilt
- Alabama (69.8% chance to win) at Tennessee
- Arkansas (36.4% chance to win) at BYU
- LSU (62.7% chance to win) at Florida
- Mississippi State (59.7% chance to win) at Kentucky
We’ve already seen plenty of upsets in the SEC and around college football. We’ll see how the FPI’s Week 7 projections fare against Saturday’s results on the field.
