We’re in the second half of the 2022 college football regular season. Things are rolling along to Week 8. Nine SEC teams are in action on Saturday.
The Magnolia Bowl is in the spotlight this week. The “SEC Nation” crew is in Baton Rouge ahead of the showdown between No. 7 Ole Miss and LSU, a game set for the 3:30 p.m. ET “SEC on CBS” showcase.
Elsewhere there are 3 other conference clashes. Tennessee, meanwhile, will host FCS program UT Martin coming.
ESPN’s Football Power Index (FPI) is a simulation-based metric that projects the outcome of every game. Here are the FPI’s picks to win Saturday’s 5 SEC games:
- Tennessee (99.4% chance to win) vs. UT Martin
- LSU (51.3% chance to win) vs. Ole Miss
- Missouri (84.6% chance to win) vs. Vanderbilt
- Alabama (90.8% chance to win) vs. Mississippi State
- Texas A&M (54.7% chance to win) at South Carolina
We’ve already seen plenty of upsets in the SEC and around college football. We’ll see how the FPI’s Week 8 projections fare against Saturday’s results on the field.
