If you like SEC games that go down to the wire, you might want to find something else to do Saturday.

ESPN’s Football Power Index sees a heavy favorite in nearly all six games featuring conference teams in Week 8, with three teams having a 72 percent chance or better to win and another two favored at least 63 percent of the time. Strangely enough, the two SEC teams with the highest odds of victory this week — No. 1 Alabama and No. 14 Kentucky — are playing against league opponents.

Missouri and Arkansas are both favored in their non-conference games, while FPI strongly likes Auburn’s chances at Ole Miss. Predictably, the SEC game FPI expects to be the closest is between No. 5 LSU and No. 22 Mississippi State.

Listed below is the percent chance of winning that FPI gives each SEC team in Week 8.

  • No. 1 Alabama at Tennessee: 94.3
  • No. 14 Kentucky vs. Vanderbilt:  84.9
  • Missouri vs. Memphis: 72.2
  • Arkansas vs. Tulsa: 66.6
  • Auburn at Ole Miss: 63.4
  • No. 5 LSU vs. No. 22 Mississippi State: 58.9
  • No. 22 Mississippi State at No. 5 LSU: 41.1
  • Ole Miss vs. Auburn: 36.6
  • Vanderbilt at No. 14 Kentucky: 15.1
  • Tennessee vs. No. 1 Alabama: 5.7
