Yet another clash of Top 10 teams highlights the Week 8 SEC schedule, as No. 5 Ole Miss travels to No. 9 Georgia on Saturday afternoon.
Both the Rebels (6-0) and Bulldogs (5-1) are coming off victories in Week 7. Ole Miss looked pedestrian at times in a 24-21 home win against Washington State in the first matchup between the programs. Georgia went on the road to upend Auburn 20-10 to move back into the AP Top 10 rankings 2 weeks after losing to Alabama.
Ole Miss and Georgia also sport stellar quarterbacks, as Rebels QB Trinidad Chambliss has passed for 1,286 yards and 7 touchdowns against just 1 interception. Bulldogs QB Gunner Stockton has also excelled, throwing for 1,264 yards and 6 touchdowns against just 1 interception. The Rebels’ 311 passing yards per game ranks 8th in the country.
Even though Ole Miss has not tasted defeat yet this season, ESPN’s Football Power Index believes it is unlikely the Rebels can go between the fabled hedges and win at Sanford Stadium – giving Georgia a 69.7% chance of victory compared to Ole Miss’ 30.3%.
Ole Miss-Georgia is set for a 3:30 pm kickoff from Athens, Ga., and will be broadcast on ABC.
