ESPN’s FPI is updating the outlook for the College Football Playoff following a dramatic weekend of football around the country! A handful of top-10 teams lost as the Playoff picture shifts entering Week 8.

At this point in the season, just two teams are given better than a 50% chance of making the Playoff. Those two programs are Oklahoma and Ohio State with the Sooners receiving nearly a 70% chance of reaching the 4-team Playoff.

Washington was a big riser this week after taking down Oregon, shooting up to a 39.9% chance. Meanwhile, the Ducks tumbled with the loss and are now below 20% to reach the CFP.

In regard to the SEC, Georgia saw its odds dip from over 40% a week ago to just over 30% after Week 7 despite a win over Vanderbilt.

Here is how the top 10 looks in terms of FPI odds to reach the CFP:

  • Oklahoma — 69.4%
  • Ohio State — 55.8%
  • Florida State — 43.9%
  • Washington — 39.9%
  • Penn State — 34.9%
  • Michigan — 31.6%
  • Georgia — 30.4%
  • Texas — 27.2%
  • Alabama — 25.6%
  • Oregon — 19.4%

While that is the FPI’s outlook for the CFP, Georgia remains the betting favorite to win another title in the national championship odds, closely followed by Michigan. Washington made a huge jump in those odds after the win over Oregon, and Florida State rounded out the top 4. Fans can head to BetMGM to take part in those odds!
