ESPN’s FPI updates projections for every remaining game on Auburn’s schedule
The Auburn Tigers have fought valiantly on the road against top 11 teams each of the past two weeks. Unfortunately, they fell short both times.
Are a 7-point loss to Oklahoma and 6-point defeat at Texas A&M results to scoff at? No. But you know what the expectations are in Auburn when you take the job. And unless something changes quickly, the calls for Hugh Freeze’s job will continue getting louder.
For better or worse, the Tigers should be bowl-eligible again in 2025 after falling just short of that mark a season ago. There are 3 games against unranked foes remaining on their slate, and they’re projected to win all of them, according to ESPN’s Football Power Index. FPI has them losing their 4 contests versus ranked opponents, though. If Freeze wants to hold his current post in 2026, he’s going to need pull off an upset or 2 in the next couple of months.
Here are the updated win probabilities:
- Oct. 11 vs. No. 12 Georgia – 35.2% chance to win
- Oct. 18 vs. No. 19 Missouri – 48.3%
- Oct. 25 at Arkansas – 59.0%
- Nov. 1 vs. Kentucky – 77.7%
- Nov. 8 at No. 16 Vanderbilt – 32.7%
- Nov. 22 vs. Mercer – 98.0%
- Nov. 29 vs. No. 10 Alabama – 26.1%
Auburn and Georgia will kick off in the evening/at night in Week 7, but an official time and channel designation have not yet been confirmed.
