ESPN’s FPI updates projections for every remaining game on Georgia’s schedule
Sometimes you just need to see your team handle business. The Georgia Bulldogs did that by defeating the Kentucky Wildcats 35-14 in Week 6. It’s a win that didn’t entirely get the bad taste of a home loss to Alabama out of their mouths, but should have them feeling more secure in their status as one of college football’s best teams.
ESPN’s Football Power Index currently considers Georgia to be No. 6 in the country. The Bulldogs’ College Football Playoff odds (60.3%) rank eighth in the nation. A relatively weak schedule the rest of the way — just 2 ranked opponents — should allow Kirby Smart to pad the win total, but any loss could be devastating to his playoff chances. A victory over Tennessee, on its own, can only do so much on your resume.
Here’s Georgia’s remaining win probabilities, per ESPN’s FPI:
- Oct. 11 at Auburn – 64.5%
- Oct. 18 vs. No. 4 Ole Miss – 60.0%
- Nov. 1 at Florida – 76.4%
- Nov. 8 at Mississippi State – 82.3%
- Nov. 15 vs. Texas – 58.8%
- Nov. 22 vs. Charlotte – 99.0%
- Nov. 29 at Georgia Tech* – 83.9%
*Game being played at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, GA.
The Bulldogs will kick off against Auburn on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. E.T. (ABC).
