In the week 1 clash, LSU’s defense proved to be too much for Dabo Swinney and No. 8 Clemson.

Following this commanding performance, ESPN’s Football Power Index recalibrated its projections for LSU’s upcoming games as they prepare to face Louisiana Tech this week. Brian Kelly’s squad is looking to build on this momentum.

Here’s a look at how likely LSU is to win each of its remaining games according to FPI:

  • Sept. 6: vs. Louisiana Tech – 97.2%
  • Sept. 13: vs. Florida – 59.6%
  • Sept. 20 vs. SE Louisiana – 99%
  • Sept. 27: at Ole Miss – 70.2%
  • Oct. 11: vs. South Carolina – 57.2%
  • Oct. 18: at Vanderbilt – 71.7%
  • Oct. 25: vs. Texas A&M – 59.8%
  • Nov. 8: at Alabama – 46.7%
  • Nov. 15: vs. Arkansas – 72.4%
  • Nov. 22: vs. Western Kentucky – 95.4%
  • Nov. 29: at Oklahoma – 58.8%

One significant shift in favor of LSU is tits upcoming road game against Alabama in Week 9. FPI projections have surged from 27.2% to 46.7% following Alabama’s surprising loss to Florida State last week. Ultimately, wins and losses are what matter most; however, if LSU continues to rise with consistent performances, expect those FPI numbers to follow suit.

While this recent win may not dramatically change the numbers ahead Louisiana Tech, it certainly sets a positive tone heading into Week 3, when LSU will host the Florida Gators. LSU currently holds a 59.6% chance of winning that matchup, per FPI.

The Tigers return to Baton Rouge for an evening showdown against LA Tech at 6:30 PM from Death Valley
