Two members of the Alabama Crimson Tide made Heather Dinich’s list of top 5 players in college football entering the 2022 season.

Linebacker Will Anderson was Dinich’s top player in college football and quarterback Bryce Young, the 2021 Heisman Trophy winner was third.

Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud and wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba joined Texas running back Bijan Robinson to round out the top five.

Anderson has already made his Heisman intentions known. The hybrid defender finished fifth in Heisman voting last season after leading the country with 17.5 sacks and 34.5 tackles for loss.

Young, however, won the Heisman Trophy, after throwing for 4,872 yards and 47 touchdowns. He could become the first repeat Heisman winner since Archie Griffin did it in 1974 and 1975.

Stroud also enters the season as a Heisman favorite after he threw for 4,435 yards and 44 touchdowns in 2021. His top receiver, Smith-Njigba had 95 catches for 1,606 and nine touchdowns as a sophomore.

Robinson is more of a darkhorse Heisman contender, but he has amassed 1,830 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns over his first two seasons.
