ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit drops SEC-heavy top 4 after Week 6

After six weeks, Kirk Herbstreit thinks he has a pretty good idea who the top four teams are in college football.
Herbstreit dropped his updated top four teams on Monday.
Alabama, Georgia and Auburn all have an argument to be included in the College Football Playoff projections, but interestingly, all will likely play each other. That AU-UGA showdown in November keeps getting bigger and bigger. Auburn will obviously play Alabama in the Iron Bowl, and the way things are looking now, UGA will face off with Alabama in Atlanta for the SEC Championship Game.
Interestingly, Auburn could legitimately finish the season 9-3, with losses to Alabama, Clemson and Georgia. Obviously, Auburn and Georgia will be a powerhouse matchup with national championship implications.
Herbstreit is officially on the Georgia bandwagon after Week 6. After having the Bulldogs just outside the top four last week, UGA jumped all the way to No. 3 this week. Alabama is still No. 1 in his rankings. Clemson (No. 2) and Penn State (No. 4) make up the rest of the top four.
