The SEC lost a projected NCAA Tournament team in ESPN’s new bracketology projections as Florida has dropped from in the field to “first four out” in the latest update.

The news may be bad for the Gators but the team that knocked Florida from in the field to out got some good news from ESPN as Tennessee is now projected to be the No. 1 seed in the South region, which would keep the Volunteers closer to home in March.

The SEC may be down to seven league teams in ESPN’s updated bracketology list put out by Joe Lunardi but there is a chance the Gators can still play their way into the tournament in the coming weeks.

Here is every SEC team listed in ESPN’s updated bracketology, broken down by region:

South

  • #1 Tennessee
  • #7 Auburn

Midwest

  • #2 Kentucky
  • #8 Ole Miss

West

  • #7 Mississippi State

East

  • #4 LSU
  • #10 Alabama

On the bubble

  • First Four Out: Indiana, Florida, Utah State, Creighton
