ESPN’s SP+ predicts final score of Vanderbilt vs. Tennessee game

ESPN’s SP+ has a prediction for Saturday’s all-important game between Vanderbilt and Tennessee in Knoxville.

Bill Connelly’s model is predicting an extremely-close game. SP+ has Tennessee winning 32-31 on Saturday, which would mean both teams in this game finish the year with a 9-3 record for the regular season.

This is setting up to be one of the most impactful games in the history of the Vanderbilt vs. Tennessee rivalry. Vandy is in position to potentially earn a College Football Playoff berth if it can pull off the upset over Tennessee.

Vanderbilt would also secure a 10-win regular season for the first time for the first time ever. The Commodores won 9 games twice under James Franklin, but both of those records were boosted by victories in bowl games. Before 2025, Vandy hadn’t won 9 games in a regular season since 1915.

Kickoff on Saturday in Knoxville is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon.
