As the Gators gear up for a pivotal clash against the Miami Hurricanes this week, everyone is left wondering if Florida turn things around and reclaim its momentum before it’s too late.

According to ESPN’s SP+ model, Mario Cristobal’s Canes have a significant edge in this matchup. SP+ is predicting a final score of 34-23 in favor of Miami.

Miami is off to a good start this season. The Canes began their year with a nail-biting 27-24 victory over Notre Dame in Week 1. They followed that up by dominating Bethune-Cookman, winning decisively at 45-3. In Week 3, Miami dismantled South Florida 49-12. With an offense averaging over 40 points per game and quarterback Carson Beck at the helm, the Hurricanes are proving to be a force to be reckoned with.

Florida began its season on a high note with a crushing 55-0 win against LIU but has since faced adversity. The Gators suffered an agonizingly-close loss to USF in Week 2 and fell short against No. 3 LSU this past weekend, leaving them standing at just 1-2 this season. DJ Lagway has struggled to find his rhythm under center, and the Gators’ offense has sputtered as a result.

Historically speaking, Miami leads the all-time series against Florida with the record of 30-27. The last meeting in 2024 was a Miami triumph, decisively, with the score of 41-17 in Gainesville.

Kickoff is set for an exciting showdown in Miami Gardens at 7:30 p.m. ET.
