A week after pulling off a monster upset against the Texas Longhorns, Billy Napier and the Florida Gators are set for another massive test against an in-conference foe from the Lone Star State this Saturday.

The Gators will be hitting the road this time around and heading over to College Station to take on the undefeated No. 5 Texas A&M Aggies in front of what’s sure to be a packed-out Kyle Field.

ESPN analyst Bill Connelly released his SP+ projections for the Week 7 tilt earlier in the week, and his model offered a very interesting outcome for this matchup against the Gators and the Aggies.

The SP+ is a predictive model that takes various stats and historical trends and uses them to both craft power rankings for ESPN and project the outcome of any given game from week to week.

When it comes to this weekend’s meeting between Florida and A&M, the model is projecting a 28-18 home victory for the Aggies, which is nearly 2 points higher than the current 8.5 spread that A&M is favored by.

Napier is clinging to his job in Gainesville right now, though, and that desperation could lead to a similar outcome to the one we saw last weekend against the Longhorns.

A lot is riding on this matchup for both squads, so it will be very interesting to see how things end up shaking out come kick-off on Saturday night.
