Being a member of the College Football Playoff selection committee won’t be easy in the next week.
With Penn State and Wisconsin set to face off in a surprising Big Ten Championship Game pairing, the committee will have to decide what to do with No. 2 Ohio State and the winners of the Big Ten, ACC and Pac-12.
One of the deserving schools will have to be left out, which will prompt outrage from that fanbase.
If the committee were to go with ESPN’s Strength of Record rankings, Wisconsin would get the nod at No. 4 if the Badgers manage to win the Big Ten:

At No. 1, Alabama can almost certainly lose the SEC Championship Game and still make it to the four-team playoff.
However, unless Washington or Clemson lose in their conference championship games, we could be in for quite the debate when it comes to the other three spots.
