Eugene Asante has come to a conclusion about his plans for 2024.

Asante played in 12 games this past season, and made 52 solo tackles, and a team-high 84 overall, including 12 against LSU. He also made 5 sacks. He shared on social media on Friday that he plans to return next season.

“We not done yet … It’s time to handle unfinished business! I will be returning to Auburn for my final season. Auburn family, let’s work!”

Asante may be most remembered for the play when he returned a fumble for a touchdown against Texas A&M when Jimbo Fisher was caught on the field during the play.

The 2023 season was a breakout campaign for Asante, who started his career at North Carolina, as he appeared in 37 games over 3 seasons and made 62 tackles, a pass deflection and a forced fumble. He transferred to Auburn in January 2022.

Asante is a big addition for the Auburn defense in 2024.
