Eugene Wilson will not suit up for Florida Saturday afternoon in The Swamp.
The standout receiver, Florida’s leader in that area so far this season, suffered a lower-leg injury during practice this past week and was listed as a game-time decision ahead of today’s game. A few hours before kickoff there was optimism that he could play, but he went through warmups and the Gators made the call to play it safe.

This is not good news for the Gators, obviously. The team has struggled to move the ball with Graham Mertz under center this year, but in fairness his only action has been against a good Miami team. We’ll see how he fares without his top receiver against a good Aggies defense.
Wilson has been very solid to start this season. He’s totaled 13 receptions for 191 yards and 1 touchdown, characterized by some unbelievable breakaway speed.
