Evan McPherson, the Cincinnati Bengals kicker who was at Paycor Stadium Monday night during the serious health incident to Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin, participated in a prayer service at a local Cincinnati church on Tuesday.
Crossroads Church held a service Tuesday at its Uptown location near the University of Cincinnati, as people across the country are praying for Hamlin to recover from his cardiac arrest.
“We just want to take this second to realize that Damar’s more than just a football player,” said McPherson, a former Florida kicker. “He’s a son, he’s a teammate, he’s a friend, and last but not least, he’s a brother in Christ. He really needs our prayers right now. … Pray for Damar and his fight for his life.”
Prayer has power.

Senior pastor Brian Tome added, “Our church isn’t strangers to tragedy and difficulty and we pray about it. We believe there is an X factor and prayer and God getting present so we wanted to bring every possibility of power to Damar and his family.”
