Experiment over? Tennessee’s Jeremy Banks practicing at RB after apparent position switch

Tennessee’s Jeremy Banks is back at his natural position — at least for now.
A week after practicing at linebacker and, per coach Jeremy Pruitt, even having an opportunity to play there, the true freshman was spotted working with the running backs during Tuesday’s practice.
After all the hullabaloo about switching to linebacker — both by Jeremy Pruitt and even among multiple teammates Tuesday — Tennessee freshman Jeremy Banks was back at running back today.

The 6-foot-1, 211-pound Banks didn’t play linebacker in the Volunteers’ 27-24 loss at South Carolina last Saturday, despite Pruitt suggesting he could. Now he’s all the way back to working at his natural position, though it’s worth noting that as of Tuesday afternoon, Tennessee’s official website lists Banks as a linebacker.
It would be unwise to assume Banks is done working on the other side of the ball, even as he has averaged almost four yards per carry and scored three rushing touchdowns this season. Pruitt seems to think Banks can play multiple positions, so it wouldn’t be a huge surprise if the true freshman was practicing with the linebackers again in the near future.
