Formula 1 drivers are in Austin, Texas this weekend for the Pirelli United States Grand Prix. The timing of the event coincides with College GameDay being in town for the Georgia-Texas game, so it’s a busy weekend in Austin.

With the F1 event happening Sunday, GameDay decided to get the drivers involved in the show this weekend. Jess Sims showed F1 drivers some college mascots and had the men try to guess the names. The results were hilarious.

First, the drivers were shown Georgia’s bulldog mascot, Uga.

“This is not a mascot,” said Lando Norris. “It’s an actual mascot?”

Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen then guessed that the Georgia Bulldogs were called the “SEC Rangers.”

Next up, the drivers were shown the Oregon Duck. Norris correctly guessed this one, so Sims moved on to the South Carolina Gamecocks.

Hulkenberg and Magnussen guessed the “Carolina Male Chickens,” while Oscar Piastri couldn’t believe the team was called the Gamecocks.

“What the hell is a Gamecock?” asked Piastri.

Ohio State’s mascot was next, and Norris declared the Buckeyes as “The Ohio State Humpty Dumpties.”

“I mean, what do you guys name your teams after?” pondered Piastri.

Perhaps the funniest responses came when the Stanford mascot was shown. Christmas tree, bush, and minion were the guesses for the Stanford Tree.

Finally, the men were shown Western Kentucky’s Big Red.

“Toronto Teletubbies,” guessed George Russell.

It was interesting to see non-Americans try and understand college football culture. The traditions and culture are what so many love about this sport.
