An SEC fan’s guide to college football’s first ‘Selection Sunday’

Brace yourselves, SEC fans. We’re just a day away from college football’s first-ever “Selection Sunday,” and it’s going to be awesome.

The College Football Playoff selection committee will reveal its inaugural four-team bracket as well as the teams featured in the remaining New Year’s Six bowls. The other bowl games will reveal their matchups as well, and the final Coaches’ and Associated Press polls will be unveiled.

It’s sure to be a jam-packed day of college football hysteria, and we at SDS are hoping to keep you on schedule as you consume it all. Here’s the schedule of events for tomorrow’s “Selection Sunday” action:

(NOTE: All times listed in Eastern Time)

College Football Playoff selection show — 12:30-3 p.m. — ESPN

  • Playoff field announced — 12:45 p.m.
  • New Year’s Six bowl matchups announced — 2:45 p.m.

Championship Drive: Who’s in? — 8:30-11 p.m. — ESPN

  • Remaining bowls will announce matchups throughout evening — times TBD

Coaches’ and Associated Press Polls released — Sunday morning (times TBA)
