Fans, media react to Kentucky’s narrow loss at Louisville, sending Wildcats to 1-6 on the season

The Kentucky Wildcats were hoping to enter SEC play on a high note by beating rival Louisville in Louisville on Saturday afternoon.
Instead, an awful start to the season continues for coach John Calipari’s squad as the Wildcats fell to the rival Cardinals 62-59. Trailing 60-59 late, big man Olivier Sarr once again got a jump shot for the win, but it didn’t go through the net.
Let’s just say fans aren’t thrilled with Kentucky’s 1-6 start to the season. Here was some of the reaction from fans and media members in the immediate wake of Saturday’s loss:
With a loss to Louisville today, Kentucky is 1-6 for the first time since 1911. Wow.

Seen some ugly ones between Kentucky and Louisville, but that might take the ugly cake. That being said: nobody ever apologizes for winning a game in this rivalry.

Kentucky’s supposedly best players just aren’t playing like it
Kudos to Mintz, Jackson, Toppin, Ware and Askew for bringing it but as long as UK doesn’t get what it needs from Boston, Clarke and Sarr, it doesn’t matter

Mintz got UK back into this game, then no shots for final 4:40. They put the ball in Jackson, Sarr, and Boston's hands, guys who were 5-for-21 from the field today.

i really enjoy the fact that kentucky hasn’t been this bad since 1911. NINETEEN ELEVEN. i am distraught. 2021 better bring some good juju to this team because i am NOT having this.

“Be patient” they said. Hell no. 1-6? Lol. That is not the Kentucky standard. They only want this team can make the tournament is to win the sec tourney. That’s the only way. And John hates the sec tourney. So we ain’t winning. This is trash.

Kentucky loses 62-59, only Calipari’s third loss to Louisville during his tenure. He flashed a peace sign on the way off the court. pic.twitter.com/JqYlJOMuTn

Louisville beat Kentucky 62-59.
Two blue bloods.
Worst game I've seen this year.

Kentucky is slated to open SEC play with a road trip to Mississippi State on Jan. 2. The Wildcats were supposed to start the SEC schedule on Dec. 29 against South Carolina, but the Gamecocks won’t be ready due to COVID-19 issues.
Can the Wildcats get back in the win column against the Bulldogs and leave their woes in 2020?
