Mack Brown is making headlines for the 2nd straight week, and once again, it’s not for a good reason.
After rumors swirled last weekend that Brown told his team he was retiring after they allowed 70 points to James Madison, Brown’s team responded by blowing a big lead to Duke in Week 5.
The Tar Heels held a 20-point lead at one point in the 3rd quarter and ended up losing 21-20 after Duke scored 21 unanswered in the 2nd half. The Tar Heels are now sitting at 3-2 and are 0-1 in ACC play.
After the game, fans and media members roasted Brown and the Tar Heels.
Two straight weeks, completely different losses, both indicative of a team that lacks moxie and toughness. You can appreciate what Mack Brown has done at #UNC and also recognize that something isn’t working.

After these past two weeks for North Carolina, forget about after this season, I don’t know how Mack Brown makes it to the end of the year.

My immediate overreaction to this loss is if Mack Brown truly cared about this UNC football program, he’d transition to a front office role in the morning.
Hate me if you want to.

Mack Brown was always good at two things:
– mastering the p/r and messaging
– beating DukeHe’s lost his two best go-to pitches. Now what?

Wow. Duke just retired an all time great Carolina Coach in Mack Brown. That’s poetic. I will be insufferable.

The Tar Heels’ next chance to get back on track will be in Week 6 against Pitt.
