Lane Kiffin often encourages anyone and everyone to “Come to FAU” on social media. Interestingly enough, Alabama and Georgia have apparently both taken the FAU coach up on his offer.
According to Landan Salem, FAU’s director of player personnel, both schools will have representatives in Boca Raton this weekend for what the school is calling the “Lane Kiffin Football Camps” series. FAU’s connection to Alabama goes a bit deeper than Kiffin, too, as the Owls hired former Crimson Tide assistant Charlie Weis Jr. to be Kiffin’s new offensive coordinator in 2018.
FAU’s safeties coach, Wes Neighbors, was also previously at Alabama before joining Kiffin’s staff in Boca.
Here’s the image Salem shared on social media announcing that the two teams that played for the latest national title would be in town this weekend for Kiffin’s football camps at FAU:
Big deal when both @FootballUGA & @AlabamaFTBL are also coming to tomorrow's camps! Registration will be open until 5 today! https://t.co/0UlxnRCn2P pic.twitter.com/BWInn6qnjv
