Florida fans are not used to seeing this type of offensive output over the past few seasons.

The Dan Mullen era is officially underway, and the first half of action has been all Gators. The team put up 38 points before halftime with QB Feleipe Franks stealing the show. The Gators QB has completed 16-of-24 passes for 219 yards and 5 TDs in the first half alone.

Not only are Franks’ numbers impressive, but the SEC Network pointed out that he has now done something that a Florida QB has not accomplished since 2004. According to the network, Franks is the first Gators QB to throw for five or more touchdowns in a game since Chris Leak in 2004:

Franks has also carried the ball five times for 34 yards.

The competition will get stiffer next week as the Gators open SEC play against Kentucky. Still, fans certainly have to be excited to see some solid offense in Mullen’s first game as head coach.
