While Kentucky may have won the SEC Tournament, Tennessee won a share of the regular season title and beat the Wildcats two out of three teams. Apparently, that was enough to put the Vols ahead of the Wildcats in the final AP Poll release of the college basketball season.
Here are the three teams from the SEC that made it into the latest AP poll:
#13 – Tennessee (23-7); #13 last week
#18 — Kentucky (24-10); not ranked last week
#19 – Auburn (25-6); #16 last week
#23 — Florida (20-11); #23 last week
The rest of the poll:
#1 Virginia, #2 Villanova, #3 Xavier, #4 Kansas, #5 Michigan State, #6 Cincinnati, #7 Michigan, #8 Gonzaga, #9 Duke, #10 UNC, #11 Purdue, #12 Arizona, #14 Texas Tech, #15 West Virginia, #16 Wichita State, #17 Ohio State, #20 Clemson, #21 Houston, #22 Miami, #24 Nevada, #25 St. Mary’s.
