Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza won the 2025 Heisman Trophy on Saturday night, finishing as the runaway winner amongst a group of finalists that also included Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia.
Pavia finished second in voting with 1,435 total points. Mendoza garnered 2,362 points. Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love finished third (719 points) while Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin came in fourth (432).
Texas Tech linebacker Jacob Rodriguez, who finished fifth, was the only other player who earned more than 100 total voting points.
Mendoza was the top vote-getter across all 5 regions of the electorate. One year after 2-way Colorado star Travis Hunter beat out Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty for the Heisman in one of the smallest margins of victory this century, Mendoza ran away with the award.
He received 643 first-place votes. Pavia had 189. Love had 46. Rodriguez had 17. No other player had more than 8.
