As a freshman, Richard played in 25 games for the Bruins, averaging 11.4 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game, shooting 45.8% from the field and 31.1% from 3-point territory. In conference play, Richard bumped his average up to 12.1 points per game.
Earlier this week, Richard spoke to 247Sports and noted that South Carolina, Clemson, Georgia Tech and Wake Forest were the other schools pursuing him.
Golden takes over a Florida program that missed the NCAA Tournament in 2022. Since the coaching change, forward Tuongthach Gatkek and starting guard Tyree Appleby have entered the transfer portal while forward Anthony Duruji declared for the NBA Draft.
