Florida just won a major recruiting battle against multiple SEC rivals.
On Saturday morning, the Gators landed a commitment from 4-star wide receiver Marquez Daniel. He chose Florida over programs such as Tennessee and Auburn, amongst numerous others.
On3’s Hayes Fawcett was first to share the news of Daniel’s commitment:

Daniel is a huge pickup for Florida in the class of 2026. He’s the No. 178 overall player and the No. 25 wide receiver in the country for this cycle, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 11 player from the state of Alabama.
Daniel attends Booker T. Washington High School in Tuskegee, Alabama. He’s listed at 6-foot-5, so he has elite size for the wide receiver position. He could be an early-impact contributor for the Gators after he gets to campus.
Florida initially offered Daniel a scholarship back in April of 2024. He took an official visit to Gainesville this weekend and evidently the visit went well enough for him to commit to Billy Napier and the Gators.
Daniel is the 9th commit so far for Florida in the class of 2026. He’s currently UF’s highest-ranked commit for this cycle.
