Florida CB Jalen “Teez” Tabor was every bit as solid in pass coverage as Vernon Hargreaves III in 2015.
Now, after Hargreaves was selected in the first round of this year’s NFL Draft, Tabor is going to have to be even better in 2016.
In a list of college football’s best “ballhawks,” NFL.com has the Gator star ranked No. 2, behind only Washington CB Sidney Jones.
NFL.com analyst Bucky Brooks writes that the Florida junior has all the skills necessary to be one of college football’s best all-around corners:
Tabor has all of the physical traits (size, arm length, speed and agility) to match up with the big-bodied receivers dominating the game. He’s also crafty enough to make plays on the ball without engaging in combat on the edge.
Brooks adds that Tabor needs to work on his “off” coverage this season, but should be one of the top corners taken if he declares for next year’s NFL Draft.
Rounding out the top five of the top college ballhawks list are CB Jourdan Lewis of Michigan, CB Adoree’ Jackson of USC and CB Desmond King of Iowa.
