Florida defensive lineman Justus Reed announced via Twitter that he will transfer.

Reed played in just two games during the 2016 season against Kentucky and North Texas. In 2015, he played in nine games and made nine tackles. He was a rising redshirt junior in 2017.

Reed was a three-star prospect in the class of 2014, and he was rated as the nation’s No. 36 strong-side defensive end, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.

It’s obvious that playing time is an issue here, and Florida has some nice depth on the defensive line.

In his statement, Reed thanked both Will Muschamp and Jim McElwain, and it’s very evident that Muschamp still carries weight in the Florida locker room among the players. Muschamp signed Reed in the class of 2014.
