No. 11 Florida will be missing a key player on the defensive side of the ball Saturday against No. 1 Alabama, as news broke Wednesday evening that senior linebacker Ventrell Miller had surgery Monday for a torn biceps tendon.

The news was first reported by G. Allen Taylor of The Athletic.

Miller is expected to miss several weeks following the procedure, but the hope is that he’ll be able to return at some point later in the season.

A 6-1, 226-pound senior from Lakeland, Florida, Miller recorded 8 combined tackles in Florida’s wins over Florida Atlantic and South Florida.

As a junior in 2020, he posted 88 tackles, including 7.5 for losses, and 3.5 sacks.
