The Gators haven’t racked up any style points in their last two games, but it beats losing.
Florida (9-1) rose into the top 10 of the latest College Football Playoff rankings on Tuesday night after this past week’s 24-14 win over South Carolina.
The Gators moved up from No. 11 to No. 8 after a week that saw Baylor, Stanford, LSU and Utah all lose this past Saturday.

Florida had fallen one spot to No. 11 in the previous CFP rankings after a 9-7 win over Vanderbilt to clinch the SEC East. This past Saturday, UF held a 17-0 lead before the Gamecocks trimmed it to 17-14. However, Kelvin Taylor’s 53-yard run with a little over a minute left set up the game-sealing score.
The Gators finish up their SEC regular season slate in The Swamp against in-state foes Florida Atlantic and Florida State before playing in the SEC Championship Game on Dec. 5.
The top 4 teams in the final CFP rankings will be released at noon ET on Dec. 6, and those teams will play for the national championship.
