After a disappointing first half by Florida, the Gators’ offense came out of the locker room firing on all cylinders to open the 3rd quarter.

Leading just 17-14 at intermission, Florida marched 78 yards in 6 plays, culminated by a trick play, to push the lead to 24-14.

On the 6th play of the drive, it was wide receiver Trent Whittemore taking a pass from starting QB Emory Jones behind the line of scrimmage and then finding tight end Kenmore Gamble on the double pass and a 13-yard touchdown.

It was a huge drive for Florida, which had entered the game as a 19-point favorite but had played a mistake-prone first half a week removed from nearly upsetting No. 1 Alabama.
