CB Shawn Davis, a three-star recruit in the class of 2017, committed to the Florida Gators on Saturday.
Davis, a 6-foot, 190-pound Miami native, chose the Gators over the Hurricanes and several other programs, including SEC schools Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Ole Miss, South Carolina and Tennessee.
Though the announcement was made on Saturday, Davis has known he’d join the Gators since this spring:
“They’ve known for a while,” Davis said.
According to 247Sports, Davis is the No. 51 cornerback in the class of 2017 and the No. 72 overall recruit from the state of Florida.
