Florida hurt by poor 3-point shooting as NIT run comes to an end with lopsided loss at Xavier

Florida won its NIT opener against Iona, but on Sunday at Xavier, the Gators’ postseason run came to an end.
The Gators were awful from 3-point range, making just 6 of their 30 long-range attempts for the day, good for only a 20% success rate.
That was a big problem against the Musketeers, as Xavier cruised to a 72-56 victory to end Florida’s season:
Final from Cincinnati.

Kowacie Reeves led the Gators with 14 points, making a team-best 3 of his 8 3-pointers. Colin Castleton and Tyree Appleby each added 10 points in the losing effort.
After Mike White left for the Georgia job earlier this month, the Gators have hired San Francisco coach Todd Golden. Now, the Golden era officially begins in Gainesville.
