Florida leads the nation in consecutive games played without being shut out by an opponent, and it’s not even close.
Phil Steele pointed out in a tweet on Friday morning that the Gators have scored at least once in 348 straight games, and after further research, that dates back all the way to the 1988 season when they lost to Auburn, 16-0.
That’s 27-plus years. And counting.
Current streaks without being shutout
1. Florida 348
2. TCU 293
3. Air Force 285
4. Tennessee 273
5. VTech 269
6. Nebrska 256
7. Ga Tech 237— Phil Steele (@philsteele042) April 8, 2016
As you can see, TCU comes in second with 293 straight games, having not been shut out since Texas blanked the Frogs 32-0 back in 1991.
Nice work, Gators.
