Florida coach Jim McElwain has taken an active approach to building quarterback depth, but he might have raised some eyebrows after extending an offer to dual-threat QB Emory Jones during a visit to Gainesville on Friday.
Blessed & humbled to say I just received an offer from the University Of Florida ??#GoGators ??? pic.twitter.com/5VqubZL0IK

If Jones were to choose the Gators, he could be McElwain’s first high school dual-threat quarterback signee at Florida. Freshmen Feleipe Franks and Kyle Trask as well as 2017 commit Jake Allen all profile as pro-style quarterbacks.
Jones, a four-star prospect from Franklin, Ga. currently has SEC offers from Georgia, Mississippi State and Tennessee.
