Florida suffered a 20-10 loss to LSU in Week 3 to fall to 1-2 in 2025.

The Gators will face another tough task ahead of them as they visit Hard Rock Stadium to face No. 4 Miami. According to Circa Sports’ opening lines on Sunday, they’ll be an 8.5-point underdog against the Hurricanes.

This was supposed to be a turnaround year for Florida with DJ Lagway taking the reins as the Gators’ No. 1 quarterback. That’s even with injury concerns surrounding the former 5-star recruit in the offseason. Now, through 3 games, he has thrown for 629 yards, 5 touchdowns, and 6 interceptions. Whether or not that’s due to his aforementioned injuries is a question, but he’s playing below what was expected of him.

Meanwhile, the Hurricanes are off to a 3-0 start. They opened the season with a 27-24 win over Notre Dame and a 45-3 blowout of Bethune-Cookman before topping South Florida 49-12 in Week 3. Carson Beck has thrown for 7 touchdowns in his first 3 games with the program, finding the end zone 3 times against the Bulls despite a pair of interceptions.

Miami leads the all-time series 30-27. The Hurricanes defeated the Gators in Gainesville 41-7 in 2024.
