Kadarius Toney is headed to Gainesville.

Toney (6-foot-1, 185 pounds), a 3-star prospect from the recruiting class of 2017, committed to Florida on Wednesday night. Ranked as the No. 16 dual-threat quarterback, most databases list him as an athlete and it is unclear what position he will play in college.

Regardless, it’s clear that the Gators are getting some real talent.

Here’s Toney’s player evaluation, courtesy of Scout.com:

“Toney is a versatile offensive weapon at the prep level. He can be a dynamic dual-threat quarterback in the right system at the next level if he so chooses, or he can be used as a ball carrier, slot receiver or return man at different programs.

“As a passer, Toney has a strong arm and can improvise despite a lack of height in the pocket. He’s most dangerous when he takes off as a runner, with incredible quickness, vision and savvy in traffic that can make defenders look silly at times.”

Toney becomes the fifth commit for coach Jim McElwain’s 2017 class, which currently ranks No. 40 nationally (No. 10 SEC).
