After traveling to Tennessee last week, Florida had to prepare for another hostile environment this week. And it’s one that Gators coach Dan Mullen knows quite well.

Florida will hear a lot of cowbells during Saturday’s game at Mississippi State. Gators running back Jordan Scarlett is ready for it.

“I don’t know much about it I’ve never been there,” Scarlett said, per 247sports, “but they say the cowbells get pretty loud, and I’m there to find out.”

Not only has Florida simulated the noise during practice this week, but it also played at Tennessee, which also has a loud home crowd, last Saturday. The Gators beat the Vols, 47-21.

“That does make a big difference, those cowbells and 100,000 people at Rocky Top, it does make a difference,” tight end R.J. Raymond said, per 247sports. “We’re going to do our best to go out there and tune that out and play our best game.”

It’ll be Mullen’s first time hearing the cowbells and returning to Mississippi State since he left the Bulldogs at the end of last season to become the Gators’ coach.

Florida and No. 23 Mississippi State are set to kick off at 6 p.m. ET on Saturday.
