Florida has reportedly targeted former Tulane defensive line coach Gerald Chatman to the same position in Gainesville.

Chatman has made stops all over the country, including a dip into the professional ranks. He started as Wisconsin-Oshkosh and has since seen positions at Ball State, Butler, Tennessee State, the Cincinnati Bengals, LSU, Colorado and most recently Tulane.

If officially hired, Chatman will be embarking on his 4th job in as many years.

The Gators defensive line struggled mightily in 2023 under Sean Spencer, who is no longer with the Gators. Florida finished this past season No. 88 in the country in allowed points per game, sitting just under 30. The Gators also finished with a sack percentage of just 6%, No. 70 in the country.
