Florida star wide receiver Dallas Wilson injured his right foot in Saturday’s SEC showdown against No. 5 Georgia and will miss the rest of the rivalry game in Jacksonville.

Wilson, who was held to 1 catch for 7 yards before having to exit the game early, is 1 of the Gators’ top weapons and his absence won’t be easy to overcome as Florida tries to knock off Georgia in the neutral-site battle on ABC.

The freshman from Tampa came into Saturday’s game with 11 catches for 167 yards and 3 touchdowns this season, and he had a boot on that injured right foot on Saturday.

Wilson is trying to make a real breakthrough this fall as a true freshman. He committed to Florida last December, deciding to stay in the state after being rated as 1 of the top receivers and top players from the state of Florida in the Class of 2025.

But Saturday’s injury throws a huge roadblock into his true freshman season, with Wilson trying to gain some traction as a certifiable weapon in UFs offense. Wilson left for the locker room during the final minutes of the first half on Saturday, then returned with the team in the 3rd quarter without his helmet, which is the indicator that his day was over.

That 1 pass that Wilson caught on Saturday ended badly, with a targeting penalty on Georgia’s KJ Bolden being called, removing Bolden from the game. As it turned out, the play signaled the end of the game for both Wilson and Bolden.
