Spring break is a time for college students to let loose a bit. But for one Florida State football player, letting loose allegedly got a bit too rowdy.
Seminoles sophomore kicker Conor McAneney was arrested Wednesday in Broward County, Fla., after authorities alleged he got “violent” with law enforcement outside a Fort Lauderdale bar.
The New York Post reported Thursday that McAneney, who turns 21 next month, was confronted by law enforcement just feet away from the famed Elbo Room at 2:30 am following a trespassing incident. The Fort Lauderdale Police Department said in a statement to The California Post that McAneney allegedly got physical with officers as they attempted to detain him.
McAneney faces two felonies – one count of battery on an officer and one count of resisting an officer – as well as one misdemeanor charge of trespassing. The FSU sophomore posed for a mug shot while in police custody, with swollen, bloody lip visible as well as scratches and bruises on his face. Jail records showed that McAneney was still behind bars as of early Thursday afternoon, being held on $2,750 bond.
McAneney enrolled at FSU for the 2026 season after a stint at Quincy (Ill.) University and went 7-for-10 on field goal attempts last season with a long of 45 yards. Florida State has not issued a comment on McAneney’s arrest.
