Florida and Texas A&M will have to wait to continue their Week 3 matchup in Gainesville. Play was suspended at 4:30 due to lightning within 8 miles of Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
Lightning first struck right at the end of the first quarter, which means when play resumes we’ll be on to the second quarter. For now, there has been no update on when play may resume – storms are expected to remain in the area until at least 5 according to weather radar.

The Aggies lead 10-0 early, but there’s reason for optimism as Florida’s DJ Lagway has entered the game for starting QB Graham Mertz, eliciting a huge cheer from The Swamp. Lagway had an outstanding outing against Samford last week as Mertz sat on the sidelines with a concussion he suffered against Miami.
This is a must-win for Florida and head coach Billy Napier. The Gators are 1-1 on the season but face an Aggies team that is playing without starting QB Conner Weigman. Though it’s important to note that backup Marcel Reed has looked solid leading the Aggies offense thus far.
We’ll see if that can continue after the teams have been brought back onto the playing field.
